Background: Ferry has been a state-licensed auctioneer since 1979. Mark Ferry Auctioneers, Inc. conducts about 50 auctions a year. It specializes in auctioning heavy equipment, farm machinery, real estate, firearms, commercial and industrial liquidations, restaurants and government-owned property throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Active in community fundraising benefit auctions for organizations such as the American Red Cross, March of Dimes, Tri-County Chapter of Pheasants Forever, National Rifle Association – The Greensburg Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation, Pennsylvania Ducks Unlimited, Derry Township Agricultural Fair, Westmoreland County 4-H Program, the Epilepsy Foundation of Western/Central Pennsylvania, St. Anne’s Home in Greensburg, Westmoreland County Cattlemen’s Association, Redstone Presbyterian Home, The Heart Association, Aquinas Academy, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, Latrobe Art Club, Junior Diabetes Research Foundation – Western PA Chapter and Safari Club – Pittsburgh Chapter.
In 2000, the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association named him the Pennsylvania Bid Calling Champion. A machinist by trade. He has been a member of the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association since 1984 and is a member of the National Auctioneers Association since 1993.
In 2010 the Westmoreland Columbus 500 honored him.
In 2014 Mark served as President of the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association, the state’s only professional trade organization for state-licensed auctioneers.
Noteworthy:
This year Mark is a 2018 PAA Hall of Fame Inductee.
